From Economics to Astronomy: Moscow Polytech Hosts Science for Life Conference
The large-scale conference “Science for Life” is held in the field of “Diversity of Science”. Participants are school students of pre-professional and profile 7-11 grades. The guys defend their research works and developments before an expert jury, consisting of representatives of leading universities of the country and industrial partners fr om various industries. For the victory or a prize place senior school students can receive additional points when applying to universities, the organizers note.
Thus, a high-school student Sergey Ovsyannikov has developed the project of an architectural bureau called “Empathy of Design”, wh ere he noted the lack of accessible environment for people with disabilities and offered several solution to the problem.
“According to our idea, this architectural bureau should improve spaces for the needs of the people with disabilities, so that these spaces and facilities are more accessible to them. After all, they often cannot even cross the threshold of the building. I want them to have no difficulties with this and not only with this,” says Sergey Ovsyannikov, a school student from school No.1498.
In his turn, Lalveg Tsebykov presented the work in the field of economics - a car service station for Chinese vehicles. He says that currently the number of such cars is ever growing, especially in the capital, but the number of service stations for them, on the contrary, is not enough.
“The experts highly appreciated my presentation. In fact, currently the number of car repair services, especially of high quality, for such cars is too low. I believe that the project is and will be in demand”.
The participants present their reports in several sections at once: agro technologies (selection and seed breeding), astronomy, mathematics and cybernetics, molecular biology and biotechnologies, Earth science, non-organic chemistry (nanotechnologies and material science), general chemistry, social science subjects, organic chemistry, psychology and cognitive sciences, global challenges management, philology, fundamental physics, ecology and nature management, ecology and nature management (in English), economics, as well as technologies of education in partnership with universities and scientific organizations. In total almost 6 thousand project were submitted.
A partnering company Erich Krause provides all winners and prizewinners with memorable gifts.
