The Festival of the Russian Culture held at Moscow Polytech on the Day of the Reunification of Crimea with Russia
The Competition-Festival of the Russian Culture “Origins” was held on March 18 and was dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Reunification of Crimea with Russia. Following the results of the competition of students teams, “Origins” Grand Prix was awarded to the team from Dagestan.
The competition-festival of Russian culture "Origins" was held to form an objective image of Russia and an idea of Russian culture, Russian people and the Russian way of life among students/trainees. At the competition, student teams presented their projects on the development of domestic tourism, demonstrated the knowledge of culture and history of the regions of Russia, its cooking and ethnographic traditions. In addition, master-classes “A Single Nation in a Multitude of Cultures and Ethnic Groups” and “Green Pharmacy” were organised at the festival, the students were addressed by experts and specialists in the field of history, culture and education.
The work of student teams was assessed by a professional jury, formed from the experts of international and federal level and faculty staff members of Moscow Polytech under the leadership of Alexander Berdnikov, Chairman of the Commission on ethno cultural development of the Council for Nationalities and Peoples’ Diplomacy under the Government of Moscow.
In the nomination “The Dream Tour – days off in the region”, the student projects were assessed by Vladimir Preobrazhenskii, PR-Director of the exhibition «The Unique Russia”; Khalidya Xenofontova, Associate Professor of the Center for Project Activity of Moscow Polytech; Oksana Chekhova, Associate Professor of the Department “Humanitarian Disciplines” of the Faculty of Basic Competences, the master of Hospitality, TOP-200 of the best tour guides of Russia, an expert of the All-Russian competition of tour guides “Guides of Meanings”, a winner of the competition “Moscow Masters” in the nomination “A guide-translator” and others.

Makhach Vagabov, Professor of the Department “Humanitarian Disciplines” at the Faculty of Basic Competences of Moscow Polytech, Honorary member of the National Guild of Chefs of Russia and foreign professional associations, a WACS judge (International Association of Chefs Communities); Elena Rodina, Vice-President of International Academy of Culinary Creativity; Cesare Chiui, Michelin Chef (Italy) assessed the culinary masterpieces of the students who presented the dishes of their region in the nomination “Traditional Cuisine”.

The team of Dagestan became the Grand Prix winner of the competition – festival “Origins” by the amount of points received in all nominations.
All the participants of the competition–festival received certificates and the teams – prizewinners received honorary diplomas, prizes from the Trade Union Organization of Moscow Polytech. The competition partner Exclusive Model Atelier provided prizes for the winning team.
A famous singer, an actress, a designer and a public person Victoria Tsyganova performed at the awarding ceremony with a greeting video to the participants of the festival “Origins”. She warmly greeted the contest participants, underlined the importance of knowing the history and cultural traditions of Russia and told the attendees how and why the Russian Style is a source of inspiration for creativity and arts.
The host of the award ceremony Irina Karimova, a Senior Lecturer of the Department “Advertising and Public Relations in Media Industry” of Moscow Polytech, paid attention of the audience to the fact that the date of holding the competition-festival “Origins” was not chosen by chance, as March 18 is the day of Reunification of Crimea with Russia. Just on March 18, 2014, in the St. George's Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace, Heads of Russia and the Republic of Crimea signed an Interstate Agreement on the return of these territories to Russia. At the end of the ceremony, the participants watched a video clip of the song “Crimea” (the author and a singer - Victoria Tsyganova), filmed at a gala concert, and organized in honor of this date.
As noted by Natalia Frolova, Chairman of the competition-festival, Head of Directorate for Educational and Social Work, a Senior Lecturer of the Center for Project Activity, such events are very valuable for forming cultural and patriotic values of the younger generation.
