Sportcar Racing Team Opened the Racing Season with Three Trophies at Moscow Raceway
The new circuit racing season has kicked off at Moscow Raceway. The opening round of the GT Sport Cup brought together more than 25 crews on the starting grid, delivering spectacular races despite extremely challenging weather conditions. Supported by the high-tech oils brand ROLF, Sportcar Racing Team fielded three cars in the GT4, GT4 Trophy, and GTC classes. The team is a joint project of Porsche Center Rublevskiy developed in collaboration with Moscow Polytech.
The program of the stage included two races: a 30-minute sprint and an hour-long race featuring a mandatory pit stop and driver change.
The first race took place in the most difficult weather conditions, as pouring rain made driving particularly challenging. Despite the weather, the team maintained a consistent pace and delivered a confident performance, achieving the following results:
- Crew No. 5 (Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport RS) – 5th place
- Crew No. 15 (Porsche Cayman S) – 3rd place
- Crew No. 25 (Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR) – 2nd place
By the start of the second race, the rain had stopped. However, success depended not only on pace but also on a well-executed pit stop. Ivan Shcherbakov (No. 5), Ivan Krapivtsev (No. 25), and Roman Smolyakov (No. 15) drove the opening stints, holding stable positions in their classes.
The mechanics team completed the mandatory pit stops flawlessly, finishing within the prescribed four minutes without losing time. After the driver changes, Vitaly Larionov took over Crew No. 5, Andrey Ponomarev got behind the wheel of the No. 25 car, while Roman Smolyakov completed the entire race distance solo.
The results of the second race:
- Crew No. 5 – 2nd place in the GT4 class
- Crew No. 15 – 3rd place in the GTC class
- Crew No. 25 – 4th place
Based on the combined results of the two races, Sportcar Racing Team won one silver and two bronze trophies at the opening round of the championship.
The team thanks its partners, as well as the spectators, including Moscow Polytechnic University students, who enthusiastically supported the team throughout the race weekend. The team also expresses its appreciation to the organizers and all participants for an excellent start of the season.
