A Bullseye: Moscow Polytechnic University Student Wins World Shooting Championship
The Junior World Shooting Championships have concluded in Suhl, Germany. The Russian national team delivered an excellent performance. Moscow Polytechnic University student Islam Shamsutdinov was a member of the team.
The most impressive victory came in the team event for the 50-meter small-bore pistol. Islam, together with Bogdan Panfilov and Vladislav Makarov, took the top spot on the podium. The trio posted a combined score of 1,672 points, finishing well ahead of the teams from India (1,610) and Ukraine (1,604).
The World Championship in rifle, pistol, and shotgun shooting took place from June 16 to 26, bringing together over 770 athletes from 63 countries. Over the course of eight days, young athletes competed for medals and the title of the world's best shooters.
