Moscow Polytech and Shenzhen Polytechnic University Discuss Options for Cooperation

Moscow Polytech hosted a working visit from a delegation of Shenzhen Polytechnic University. Representatives of the Chinese university discussed possible formats of cooperation with their Russian colleagues and got acquainted with the technological developments of the university's students.

The delegation fr om China included the university's Vice President and Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Liang Zhaofeng; Deputy Dean of the same school, Yu Fei; heads of the "Integrated Circuit Technology" program, Huang Qinjin, and the "Design and Manufacturing of Mechanical Systems" program, Hong Jianming; as well as the coordinator of programs at the Office of International Exchanges and Cooperation, Zou Geng. The guests were accompanied by representatives of the ADV Group of Companies — Zakhar Turovsky, Pyotr Zhdanov, and Alexander Bondarenko — as well as Deputy Directors of the Central House of Aviation and Cosmonautics of DOSAAF Russia, Alexander Mezentsev and Radik Gafurov.

In her presentation of Moscow Polytech, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Yulia Davydova outlined the key areas of study, emphasized the practice-oriented nature of education and the university's well-developed project activity, and noted the high popularity of the university among international students thanks to the in-demand professions it offers.

Liang Zhaofeng noted that the university's representatives were in Russia for the first time and were struck by the country's culture and history.

"First of all, many thanks to the leadership for their efforts in organizing our meeting," he said. "We have seen that Moscow Polytech is successfully implementing the internationalization of education — you have students from more than 70 countries. We hope to explore opportunities for cooperation with your university in personnel training and other areas."

The guests from China presented a vibrant promotional video about their university. Shenzhen Polytechnic University is relatively young: it was founded in 1993. The university cooperates with many innovative companies and, according to the delegation, is developing dynamically, following changes in industry. Today it enrolls around 32,000 students across more than 100 educational programs.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Moscow Polytech Guzel Sharipzyanova introduced the guests to the organization of the educational process at Moscow Polytech.

"Our university's history spans more than 160 years. Today we combine historical knowledge, fundamentals, and traditions in education with entirely new technologies, such as project-based learning and a practice-oriented approach. From their very first day of study, our students solve real problems from industrial partners. Thanks to this, they gain serious practical training and enter the job market even before graduation," the Vice-Rector emphasized.

Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Evgeny Safonov and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management Anton Nazarenko spoke about the areas in which their faculties train specialists, and presented the main research and projects carried out by students together with industrial partners.

The parties noted the potential for developing joint educational programs for student training and for implementing joint projects.

A tour was organized for the guests around the laboratories of the Advanced Engineering School of Technological Leadership FDR, wh ere Moscow Polytech students work on engineering and technological projects. There, representatives of the Chinese university saw real examples of the practical orientation of the university's educational environment.
