Moscow Polytechnic University continues its successful cooperation with the Sälät International Youth Educational Forum. This year, the Forum expanded the number and range of its sessions, adding the "Professions of the Future" track in July. During the new July session, Moscow Polytech faculty members Irina Karimova and Denis Gavrikov held master classes for talented children from Tatarstan.
Under the guidance of Irina Karimova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Advertising and Public Relations in the Media Industry at Moscow Polytech and mentor of the Skolkovo Foundation, schoolchildren filmed a video, conducted interviews, and discussed trends in the creative industries and in the media.
"Participation in Sälät events provides amazing opportunities for the development of creative abilities of gifted children: they take an active part in the educational program, dance and vocal competitions, intellectual games and quizzes, communicate with their peers and mentors, and learn about the culture and traditions of their country. I was very glad to take part in this session and share my experience and knowledge," noted Irina Karimova.
During classes led by Denis Gavrikov, Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial, Civil and Underground Construction at Moscow Polytech, PhD in Architecture, and President of the National Association of Half-Timbered Architecture Researchers, the participants drew, sculpted from plasticine, and learned about the history and symbolism of various ornaments.
Moscow Polytech faculty members have been taking part in the Sälät Forum for many years. Through educational master classes, they introduce talented schoolchildren of the Republic of Tatarstan to current and promising areas in engineering and the creative industries, while helping them develop practical skills and project-based thinking.
Background: in 2026, the Sälät International Youth Educational Forum is being held for the 15th anniversary time. The project is being implemented with the support of Rais (Head of the Republic) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. During the summer, more than 4,500 schoolchildren, 1,070 organizers and 210 mentors from all municipal districts of Tatarstan, other regions of Russia and foreign countries will take part in the Forum, which is held at the Bilyar Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve in the Republic of Tatarstan.
