“Everything We Do Here Is Done with Love!”: Moscow Polytech Launches the New Academic Year

Congratulations, creative performances, an exhibition featuring industry partners, lectures and prize draws - Moscow Polytech celebrated Knowledge Day on a truly impressive scale. The event brought together students, faculty members, partners, government officials and distinguished guests at the open-air stage outside the University’s main building.

Rector Vladimir Miklushevskiy congratulated the students and officially marked the beginning of the new academic year. In his address, he noted that the University had welcomed a record number of first-year students this year - more than 5,000.

“Knowledge Day is a traditional celebration for everyone who strives to learn and for everyone who passes knowledge on to new generations. Be bold, seek new opportunities, persevere and strive for new achievements - this is what makes a person a true professional and a citizen of a great country,” the Rector said, addressing the audience.

Anna Braines, Deputy Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, delivered a welcome address and read out a congratulatory message from Deputy Minister Olga Petrova.

“September 1 is a day that each of us associates with the beginning of a new journey, new encounters, plans and expectations. For some of you, it will be the first step into university life. You will not only acquire new knowledge and competencies but also have an opportunity to unlock your talents in science and public activities. May the new academic year bring each of you inspiration, exciting challenges, new knowledge and many reasons to be proud of your achievements.”

The University’s industry partners also joined in the congratulations. Tamara Alekseeva, Moscow Network Management Director at Alfa-Bank, noted that the bank’s cooperation with Moscow Polytech had developed into “a long-standing, strong and highly valued friendship.”

“I wish you the courage to make decisions and seek challenging, unconventional solutions. After all, it is here that you learn to be responsible and independent, to celebrate your achievements and to cope with setbacks in the right way. May this year be filled with exciting events and new victories. We at Alfa-Bank will always be there to support you.”

Anastasia Pavlenko, Director of the Sales Management Department for the Regional and Public Sector at Sberbank, wished the students courage:

“Go ahead and do what you enjoy. Bring new ideas to life, and you are sure to succeed. I was deeply moved by the students’ performance today: ‘Love and dance as if it were your last time.’ I hope that you carry this motto throughout your student years and take it with you into adulthood. I wish you all the very best. Happy Knowledge Day!”

Speaking on behalf of the student community, Yakov and Daria Klochkov shared their emotions and words of encouragement with the first-year students. The couple met at the University’s Autumn Ball several years ago. The event gave them more than fond memories of their student years - it gave them a future together. In the summer of 2024, Yakov and Daria officially became husband and wife.

“Moscow Polytech is a space for ideas and technology, development and creativity. Here, we create not only projects that transform the present and shape the future, but also things that remain with us for life: strong friendships, reliable teams and sometimes even families. Remember: everything we do here is done with love!”

On Knowledge Day, students could also visit an exhibition featuring the University’s industry partners. Leading Russian companies - Ingosstrakh, VTB, Soglasie, EcoStandard, Alfa-Bank, FSK, KORTROS, Lamoda, OTP Bank, Rostelecom, ErichKrause and Sber - presented their projects and internship and employment opportunities.

At the "Tochka Kipeniya" Lecture Hall hosted sessions on psychological preparation for the academic year, as well as presentations of the youth projects Moscow Youth and Tavrida.ART.
