Moscow Polytech Hosts Open Lecture by H. E. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of Pakistan

Moscow Polytech hosted an open lecture by His Excellency Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation. The lecture, entitled “Eurasian Connectivity in Pakistan‑Russia Relations,” brought together students and guests, both in person and online.

The Ambassador shared his perspective on how political relations between the two countries are evolving in a multipolar world. He focused on new opportunities for economic and transport cooperation across the Eurasian continent.

Attendees got a first‑hand account from someone directly engaged in key geopolitical processes. After the main part of the lecture, a discussion and a Q&A session followed.

“There is currently great interest among Pakistani citizens in studying in Russia. What opportunities are available to graduates of leading Russian universities, such as Moscow Polytech, when they return to their home country?” asked Pavel Shvaikovsky, a second‑year master’s student in Economics and Management.

The topic generated strong interest not only among Russian students but also among international students from Iran, Bangladesh, Angola, Zimbabwe, Mali, and other countries. Pakistani students, in turn, took the opportunity to express their gratitude to His Excellency for his efforts to strengthen bilateral ties.

“We have seen positive developments recently in diplomatic relations between Russia and Pakistan, including in the economic and energy sectors, through active cooperation within the SCO, and in cultural projects. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to receive a quality Russian education here at Moscow Polytech,” said Muhammad Sahib, a student from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, addressing the Ambassador.

The university cooperates with local educational institutions, takes part in exhibitions with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo, and runs cultural and educational projects such as the festival “Russia - My Soul.”
