The annual presentation of the “PIK” award traditionally took place on the Day of Russian Student and united several pleasant events. The contest commission received 121 applications in 11 nominations. The jury board confessed that selection was difficult because the candidates` level was very high.
Among the candidates, there were collective and individual contestants that demonstrated decent results in sports, scientific, social and creative activity. There was also a special
nomination – “Start of the Year”, that drew attention to the students who stood out for the first time this year in student environment and beyond its borders. The first place here went to the first-year information technologies student Timofei Chikhirin, the grand prix holder of the ‘Zolotoi Golos’ [Voice of Gold] and ‘Freshmen’ festival.
“It brings infinite joy that such intelligent, talented and committed students from around the world chose to study Moscow Poly. Not only do you excel academically but also prove yourselves in sports and science, demonstrate your creativity. Today, I wish the contestants and all students continued success and victories!”, – noted in her speech the vice-president for international affairs Yulia Davydova.
The 4-year mechanical engineering student Ekaterina Proskura became the best in the “Persona of the Year in Creative Sphere” nomination. Ekaterina is a member of Moscow Poly vocal group, she participated in the “Beauty of Russian Students” Russian national beauty and talent contest, and other [Russian] national and regional theater festivals as a member of “Moscow Poly Creative Workshop”.
“Moscow Poly has repeatedly proved with its participation in various projects of the Russian Student Union and its numerous victories there that our students are the best. [I`d like to express] a huge gratitude to the University administration that supports such bright talents”, – noted the director deputy of the center for student programs under the Russian Student Union, head of the “Russian Students` Spring” program Valery Pozikova.
In the “Best Scientific Group”, the winners were the members of “Folipro”, winners of the acceleration sessions for the “Present Future. Russian Electronic” young teams, participants and winners of the all-Russian conferences, international forums and IT projects. While congratulating the students with a well-deserved victory, the vice-president for research and elaborations Anton Nalivaiko said that he`s happy to praise the most talented students of the University for their scientific achievements:
“By virtue of my work I can confidently confirm the thesis that science is for the young. Have the courage to walk forward, guys. The University can see all your achievements and totally support you in that”.
Moscow Poly president Vladimir Miklushevskii noted that Tatiana`s day – a holiday for all students – falls on the cold season of the year, however is celebrated in an extraordinary warm atmosphere.
“Student years is the best period of a lifetime when one`s not afraid of dreaming and [because of that] achieve heights. It`s not a coincidence that the emblem of our wonderful contest depicts mountains peaks. I wish you to not be afraid of height and walk confidently towards your goals”, – summarized the president.

“Victory of the Year” nomination – victory in the “I do” tcontest track of the “Tvoi Khod” all-Russian student project held together with the “REFORM” project – Georgy Sharipov, group 201-761 (1,000,000 grant funding receiver).
