Representatives of Moscow Polytech are included in the Public Council of the Ministry of Sports of Russia
Three representatives of Moscow Polytech have been included in the Public Council of the Ministry of Sports of Russia. Nikolay Zherebkin, Irina Cherepanova and Dmitry Yakhnenko are among 25 participants. Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyaryov signed the order stating this. The first meeting of the new convocation will be held in the near future.
Established in 2010, the Council includes representatives of professional, sports organizations, scientific and educational entities, social organizations and active sportsmen. The main goal of the Public Council is the assistance in the sports development in the country. To achieve this goal, the participants conduct consultations and render assistance to the agency in making decisions; social activists analyze the sports system, consult with the representatives of the state bodies and professional sports organizations, and elaborate recommendations on improvement around sports development. In addition, they actively promote a healthy lifestyle.
“Two more employees of Moscow Polytech, teachers of the Department of Physical Education, joined the Council with me. There are several issues that we would like to discuss with colleagues at such a high level. For example, within five years of working at the university I noticed that many applicants, coming to us for enrollment, demonstrate rather low physical fitness. In the future, jointly with the Public Council, the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Education of Russia we would like to fix and refine this gap in physical education and training,” - noted Head of the Students’ Sports Club of Moscow Polytech Dmitry Yakhnenko.
