RT news resource in Russian about new development of Moscow Polytech scientists
Correspondents of RT in Russian reported about the invention of Moscow Polytech that will increase the efficiency of heat exchange. The author of the idea is Anastasia Yuritsyna, a second-year student of the Master’s degree program at the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology of Moscow Polytech (Department “P.L.Kapitsa Low Temperature Technology”). The invention of new pipe designs will make it possible to considerably increase the efficiency of industrial processes and to save energy and resources.
It is the pipes that became the object of the research of Anastasia, the purpose of which was to develop a universal method that would increase the efficiency of the equipment with pipe elements, regardless of the specifics of an enterprise or the industry as a whole.
The method suggested by Anastasia consists of replacement of round pipes with petal-shaped profile pipes. When fitting the cross-section of round and new pipe profiles into a circle of the same size, a new profile will have a much larger perimeter. Thus, with the same dimensions, the surface area of a new profile pipe will be larger than that of a round profile pipe, which allows increasing the efficiency of industrial equipment of various purposes.
