Nearly 200 participants attend IT business management hackathon at Moscow Polytech
The "Information Technologies in Business Management" hackathon at Moscow Polytechnic University brought together 192 talented young participants from Moscow's schools and colleges. 32 teams representing 13 schools and 19 colleges participated in the intellectual competition. The Management Department of the university’s Faculty of Economics and Management organized the event.
Participants had to solve a complex business problem, including developing an enterprise's organizational structure, building value-added chain diagrams (VAD), developing business processes in BPMN notation, and creating a responsibility matrix.
The hackathon's significance was enhanced by the use of SILAUnion, a Russian software for business process modeling. This allowed participants to master modern Russian technological solutions.
SILAUnion acted as a strategic partner, providing not only the technological platform but also valuable prizes for the winners.
The winners were:
Schoolchildren Track:
- 1st place — team "It's in the Code," School No. 1474
- 2nd place — team "It Works, Don't Touch," Academic Gymnasium School
- 3rd place — team "Crazy Cachalots," School No. 777 named after Hero of the Soviet Union E.V. Mikhailov

The event allowed the students to gain practical experience with modern business management methods, master professional tools, and evaluate the prospects of obtaining a higher education in engineering and economics at Moscow Polytechnic University. The hackathon format develops critical thinking, teamwork skills, and a systematic approach to solving business problems—competencies that are particularly in demand by employers in the digital economy," noted Elena Alenina.
