Moscow Polytech Student Selected for Russian National Team at the 2027 World University Games

Ivan Fruktov, a Russian speed skating champion and second-year student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, has been included in the Russian Student Sports Union's entry list for the World Winter University Games. The competitions will take place in January 2027 in the Chinese city of Changchun. A total of 275 athletes are included in the entry list.

Under the regulations, all national university sports organisations are required to submit quantitative entry lists to the International University Sports Federation three months before the start of the Universiade, and named entries one month before the competitions.

As a reminder, Ivan became the Russian speed skating champion in the 5,000-metre event. He achieved this result at competitions held in Kolomna in December 2025.

"I hope nothing changes for the worse, and that I will indeed take part in these competitions. I would very much like to compete against athletes from other countries, see their level, and show what I am capable of," noted Ivan Fruktov.
