Moscow Polytech Enters RUR International Subject Rankings in Five Subject Areas at Once

Moscow Polytech has entered the Round University Ranking (RUR) Subject Rankings 2026 for the first time, gaining recognition in five academic fields at once. The university is featured in the global rankings for Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Technical Sciences, and Life Sciences. Such broad subject representation reflects the university's multidisciplinary character, supported by its STEAM educational model. This model integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts (in the broad sense) and Mathematics.

Moscow Polytech is among the world's top 1,000 universities and the top 100 Russian higher education institutions. Being represented in five subject areas at once is an important milestone in expanding its international ranking presence and reflects the diversity of its research and academic fields.

Moscow Polytech achieved its highest position in Life Sciences — 702nd in the world and 41st among Russian universities. The ranking agency noted the university's financial stability, particularly in the technical sciences. This is evidenced by the successfully implemented strategic projects to establish the Advanced Engineering School of Technological Leadership (FDR) and the Advanced School of Engineering Design RID. Moscow Polytech's results in internationalisation were also recognised, in particular the number of international students in the social sciences. In research, the university ranked 36th among Russian higher education institutions in Arts and Humanities and Natural Sciences.

The full ranking results are available on the official Round University Ranking website.

Background: RUR Subject Rankings is an annual international subject ranking of universities covering six broad academic fields. Assessment is based on 20 indicators grouped into four areas: Teaching (40%), Research (40%), International Diversity (10%) and Financial Sustainability (10%). The methodology takes into account publication activity and citation impact of research papers, staffing levels, international cooperation, digital presence and the financial performance of universities. Depending on the subject area, the RUR Subject Rankings 2026 includes between 950 and 1,111 universities worldwide, including around 100 Russian higher education institutions.
