The final of the student innovation projects competition in the field of heat power engineering, gas distribution and gas consumption "Innovatika", organized by Mosoblgaz (gas utility service company), was held in Skolkovo. The contestants included students from Moscow Polytechnic University and other leading Russian universities: Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, MEI, RUDN, MIREA, MGSU and others.
At the event, “Mosoblgas” initiated the creation of the innovative and educational cluster “Innovatica” – an association of universities, business and state bodies in order to jointly develop and implement new technologies in the fields of gas- and heat supply.
The idea was supported by all the participants of an expert session an agreement on cluster cooperation was immediately signed between the Ministry of Power Engineering of the region, “Mosoblgas”, leading educational institutions of Moscow and the Moscow region and fuel and energy companies of the region. Gyuzel Sharipzyanova, Vice-President for Academic Affairs signed the agreement on behalf of Moscow Polytech.
“We have gathered here today not just for summing up the results of the competition of students’ innovative projects, but to see the future of energy in your ideas and ambitions. The industry have both rich history and big prospective as well. Technologies, environmental friendliness and efficiency, are our priorities…. The competition and the establishment of the cluster are important steps for the development of power engineering, training of personnel and strengthening the technological sovereignty of our country,” - noted Sergey Voropanov, Minister of Energy of the Moscow Region.
The way it will be done:
Students will offer their ideas and create start-ups that can become solutions for the energy industry.
Universities will closely cooperate with companies: students will undergo internships and learn from specialists at real enterprises.
Together, the cluster participants will develop smart, reliable and environmentally friendly technologies for the industry.
The goal of the project is to ensure that students’ new ideas do not remain on paper, but work in real life.
Vice-President of Moscow Polytech Gyuzel Sharipzyanova said at the meeting that such project activity is integrated into educational process of the university. The “Project Activity” discipline is included in all university curricula. From their first year, students work on real projects of industrial partners, which allows them to the acquire necessary skills and experience for successful employment. Many students start their professional careers while studying and this confirms the efficiency of the approach of Moscow Polytech.
