Moscow Polytech student Arman Afsarzada from Afghanistan has won the WOW! RUSSIA International Student Competition in the "Education: Studying without Filters" category. The competition received 927 applications from 532 international students from 83 universities across the country. The jury selected 14 winners, and Arman was one of them. He received the award at a media workshop in Senezh.
Arman is a third-year student at the Faculty of Information Technology majoring in the "Automated Information Processing and Control Systems." In a video, he shared his typical study day at Moscow Polytech. The video has garnered over 30,000 views on social media.
The winners received a three-day internship at the TASS news agency, a tour of the headquarters, lectures from media experts, an introduction to the work of the text, photo, and international editorial teams, and a press conference at the Spirit of Fire festival.
The awards ceremony for the international students took place in April at the media workshop in Senezh. Over the course of four days, the students participated in educational sessions, completed a team assignment, attended an impressive culinary master class, and several tours of the workshop.
The diplomas were presented by Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; Svetlana Zhurkina, Deputy General Director of the ANO "More Than a Journey"; and Oksana Brazhnik, Deputy General Director of the ANO "National Priorities."

"I especially remember the speech given to international students by Pablo Iturralde, Director of the Advanced Engineering School of Technological Leadership (FDR) at Moscow Polytechnic University. Background: Wow! Russia is a project that brings together international students studying at Russian universities. Participants created media materials about their lives, studies, and cultural experiences, published them on social media in their native languages, and shared their personal experiences of studying in Russia. The competition was part of the national project "Youth and Children." It was organized by the National Priorities nonprofit organization with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University). The project's general media partner is TASS.
