Roman Maximov, a postgraduate student of the Transportation Faculty of the Advanced Engineering School of Electric Transport at Moscow Polytech, became one of the winners of competitive selection for awarding the Russian Presidential Scholarship.
Only 500 post-graduates and adjuncts from all over Russia were awarded. The value of a monthly scholarship will make up 75 thousand rubles. Payment is allocated for the period from 1 to 4 years. More than 4 600 applications from 73 regions of Russia were submitted for the competition. The winners represented all federal districts.
Roman Maximov is developing new methods of improving comfort level of land vehicles. In order to provide their proper smooth running (in particular for mainline cargo vehicles as part of a road train), a young scientist creates principally new solutions, which reduce vibration loading of cabins and improve safety and comfort of a driver and passengers. This is achieved by increasing vibration – proofing properties of the systems of secondary cushioning of a truck cockpit on account of introducing a non-linear damping control. After applying these methods, a vehicle may move at higher average speeds over long distances with high comfort of movement.
“Practical meaning of the research is in the creation of advanced methods and a complex of software and hardware tools for engineering of mainline cargo vehicles,”- notes Roman.
The results of his research works are implemented in the processes of engineering developments at the Innovation Center “KAMAZ” and “KAMAZ” Company, as well as became part of educational processes for students at Moscow Polytech.
The research supervisor of the young scientist is Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mikhail Zhyleikin.
