According to Vladimir Miklushevsky, the university is consistently transitioning from the STEM model of education to STEAM by adding a humanities component.
"A product created by an engineer using a purely cold, rational approach — without regard for the consumer's emotions — fails to find a market," the rector noted.
More than half of the university's faculty are industry practitioners, and project work in mixed teams is mandatory for students starting from their first year.
Vladimir Miklushevsky also discussed the university's use of artificial intelligence: this year, the university will allocate tens of millions of rubles to deploy local language models trained on specialized literature to answer students' routine questions. The rector himself uses AI tools in his own work — specifically for analyzing open data — to handle tasks that would previously have required a team of experts and months of work.
