Over 20 Moscow Polytechnic University students participated in the GO-BRICS Hackathon ENERGY-O-THON test hackathon

The results of the first GO-BRICS Hackathon ENERGY-O-THON test hackathon were announced in Russia and India. The inaugural hackathon marked a historic step in creating a new architecture for international cooperation. The test phase was attended by 330 students from leading engineering and technology universities in Russia and India, including over 20 students from the Moscow Polytech’s Faculty of Urban Studies and Faculty of Economics and Management, as well as from the university's Cheboksary Institute (branch). The main goal of the event was to test the innovative format and identify key growth areas before the launch of the first global working hackathon, which will take place in February 2026.

The organizers noted that the format of forming mixed international teams generated unprecedented enthusiasm among the participants. Thanks to the "multinational synthesis" of approaches, the solutions proposed by the students are unique and highly practical.

The first working hackathon is planned for February 2026, bringing together over 10,000 participants from three countries: Russia, India, and the UAE. This event will be the largest intellectual gathering in the history of youth interaction among the BRICS+ countries.

The initiator and driving force behind the project is the GO-BRICS Business Forum—a new-format international business platform uniting the talent and technology of 23 countries (BRICS+ and observer countries). The project is being implemented under the personal patronage of Ms. Purnima Anand, President of the BRICS International Forum. Ms. Anand is a recognized global leader in public diplomacy and international cooperation with over 35 years of experience.

Vladimir Miklushevsky, Rector of Moscow Polytechnic University, received a letter of gratitude from Ms. Purnima Anand:

Thanks to the prompt support of Kirill Lushin, Dean of the Faculty of Urban Studies and Urban Economy, Moscow Polytech students were able to quickly find their bearings and represent the university and the country with dignity."
