Moscow Polytechnic University student introduces schoolchildren to 345th Mechanical Plant
Students fr om the physics and mathematics class at School No. 27 in Balashikha were introduced to the work of the 345 Mechanical Plant. The students were shown the plant's technological departments, production workshops, and sections. Timofey Gryzunov, Production Director at the 345 MP and a student at the Mechanical Engineering Department at Moscow Polytechnic University, led the tour. Timofey has been working at the plant since 2013. He joined as a supervisor with no mechanical engineering experience. He rose through the ranks to senior supervisor, then production manager, and today holds the position of production director. He is responsible not only for production processes but also for coordinating all departments supporting the plant's operations. Timofey Gryzunov is also a fifth-year student at Moscow Polytechnic University, continuing to develop in his chosen field.
The schoolchildren visited production facilities wh ere concrete products and metal structures for building frames were manufactured. They also saw a section producing containers for Rosatom, a paint shop, an assembly line for wastewater treatment plants, and a modern preparatory section equipped with CNC machines.
"The goal of these visits is to show off modern high-tech manufacturing from the inside, break down stereotypes, and help schoolchildren make informed choices. In my opinion, in recent decades, industry has been less attractive to young people; they were more focused on economics and finance. Now, interest in engineering and blue-collar jobs is resurfacing, and that is great. After all, for companies, it's a matter of survival, as there's a shortage of personnel," notes Timofey Gryzunov.
Background: For 80 years, the 345 Mechanical Plant has been manufacturing metal structures for power plants, specialized equipment for nuclear power plants, and equipment for wastewater treatment plants under environmental programs. It is located in Balashikha.
