Moscow Polytech to train digital twin specialists at production facilities

Moscow Polytech takes part in the project of the metropolitan government “Moscow Technical School” with the program of additional vocational training “Digital Twins Development”.

Due to the new module “Digital Twins”, industrial employees will obtain necessary competencies for the creation and application of digital twins at production facilities, starting from engineering and modeling up to big data analysis and processes optimization. Anatoliy Garbuzov, Minister of Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, informed about this.  

“We continue developing educational base of the Moscow Technical School and have already launched the third module in 2024. Digital twins are virtual models of physical objects and processes, which allow conducting their monitoring simulation and optimization in real time. In the framework of the program, the project participants will be trained fundamentals of the creation, management and analysis of digital twins. The module includes both theoretical and practical classes, at which the students will learn advanced technologies, such as the Internet of Things, machine learning and big data analytics,” - noted Anatoliy Garbuzov.

Denis Voronin, Head of the Center of Professional Competencies Development at Moscow Polytech, told that the University has elaborated the program of additional vocational training “Digital Twins Development” for the Moscow Technical School.

“Within 256 academic hours the students will learn how to create digital twins, adjust and configure informational systems for working with them, inculcate them at production and operate, conduct experiments with virtual models of physical objects and processes, and much more. At modern production, introducing digital twins is one of the key fields of digitalization. It reduces costs of technical maintenance, saves time and resources, and significantly optimizes the volume of production,” - said Denis Voronin.

Educational partners of the new development, besides Moscow Polytech, include Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman, MISIS, “NAMI”, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Skolkovo University of Science And Technology, among others. 

Reference: In 2021, the Government of Moscow jointly with major universities and companies launched the project Moscow Technical School. Its goal is to train industrial employees to work with new technologies that will help to develop city industries and improve production.
