Moscow Polytech Strengthens Its Position in Interfax National University Ranking
Moscow Polytechnic University has strengthened its position among the leading universities in Russia: in the 2026 Interfax National University Ranking, the University has risen by almost 20 positions – from 85th–86th to 68th place – significantly improving its performance in "Education", "Research", and "Innovation/Entrepreneurship".
The ranking includes all high-status universities in Russia: 29 national research universities, 10 federal universities, 33 flagship universities, as well as 133 universities participating in the "Priority 2030" program. In total, experts evaluated 395 Russian universities.
Moscow Polytech's growth is the result of the University's systematic work aimed at developing practice-oriented education, cooperation with industrial partners, and the introduction of innovations.
For applicants and their parents, Moscow Polytech's stronger position in the ranking provides an additional point of reference when choosing a university. For partners and employers, it is a signal that the University is actively involved in the country's technological development agenda.
Background: The "Interfax" Group has been compiling the National University Ranking since 2010. It is based on more than 50 indicators grouped into six areas: education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship, cooperation, social environment, and brand. The evaluation is carried out using data from questionnaires submitted by universities, publicly available data published by educational institutions on their websites, public data from information resources of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, as well as information from the "SPARK-Interfax" and "SCAN-Interfax" information and analytical systems.
