More than 80 Moscow Polytech students take part in “Innovatika” cluster youth gathering
A gathering of young employees and students fr om the innovative-educational cluster “Innovatika” took place on November 7. More than 80 students studying at the Faculty of Urban Studies and Urban Economy of the Moscow Polytechnic University participated in the forum. The subject of the conversation at the gathering was the development prospects in the gas and heat supply sector of the Moscow region.
The “Innovatika” cluster was created in the summer of 2025 on the initiative of one of Russia's largest gas distribution companies, Mosoblgaz JSC. A cluster cooperation agreement was signed between the regional Ministry of Energy, Mosoblgaz, leading educational institutions in Moscow and the Moscow region, and regional fuel and energy companies. The goal of the cluster is the joint development and implementation of new technologies in gas and heat supply.
“Cluster students participate in project activities and obtain real practice experience while helping our company to develop. I am convinced that the future of the industry lies with young professionals, bold ideas, and the ability to work with new technologies. It is important for us to create conditions in which such ideas will be able to become real solutions,” said Igor Baranov, General Director of Mosoblgaz JSC, welcoming the students.
As part of the gathering, students attended a panel discussion, "Trends in Thermal Power Engineering Development," wh ere they discussed, among other things, how artificial intelligence and big data are already changing approaches to engineering infrastructure management. They listened to expert opinions on the topic "People and Technologies of the Future," learned how to profit fr om innovation, and watched a gas KVN contest, wh ere, incidentally, the Moscow Polytechnic University team performed brilliantly.
Anna Shkalenko, Head of the Moscow Polytech’s Project Activity Center, spoke to students of the Innovation Cluster about the role of project activity in creating and bringing innovations to market. Kirill Lushin, Dean of the Faculty of Urban Studies and City Economy, presented his vision for the future of humanity in the age of AI and technology.
