Distinguished Guests Attend Opening of the Abstract Expressionism Exhibition at Moscow Polytech
Vital Placide Simpore, Cultural and Educational Attaché of the Embassy of Burkina Faso in the Russian Federation; Hadi Bak, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Head of the Russian Language and Literature Department at Atatürk University; Konstantin Trifonov, Deputy Head of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone project; and Sergey Chesnokov, Academician of the Petrovskaya Academy of Sciences and Arts, President of the ANO "Mir" and permanent expert at Lomonosov Moscow State University's Russia-Africa Club, attended the opening of Belarusian artist Igor Litvinov's exhibition at ART Polytech. The guests viewed the paintings, met the artist, and spoke highly of Moscow Polytechnic University.
The guests familiarised themselves with a large-scale canvases in the style of abstract expressionism and discussed their meanings with their author, Igor Litvinov. The artist, who hails from Vitebsk, also shared how his background there shaped his creative path. The city was a center of classical avant-garde, home to Chagall, Malevich, and Lissitzky.Litvinov highlighted the synthesis of influences in his work, drawing equally from the worlds of painting and design.
Vital Placide Simpore addressed the hosts in Russian, thanking them for the exhibition invitation and discussing the growing cooperation between Burkina Faso and Russia.
"We appreciate the invitation to view these remarkable paintings and meet the artist behind them. We are delighted to discover Moscow Polytechnic University, one of Russia's leading educational institutions, and hope to see students from Burkina Faso studying here. We aim to develop our relations in both technical and cultural spheres, step by step building a clear path of mutual cooperation between our countries," stated Vital Placide Simpore.
Sergey Chesnokov, Academician of the Petrovskaya Academy of Sciences and Arts, noted that both President Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Aristide Rapougdondba Ludovic Tapsoba place significant emphasis on strengthening relations between the youth of both nations.
He concluded by saying: "I extend my gratitude to Attaché Vital Placide Simpore for his address. For my part, I wish to emphasize that Moscow Polytechnic University consistently remains at the forefront of progress with a promising future ahead. I am confident that cooperation between Burkina Faso and the university will prove highly productive."
During the event, Sergey Chesnokov; Yulia Davydova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at Moscow Polytech; Alina Andrukh, Head of the International Office; and representatives of the Embassy of Burkina Faso discussed potential educational cooperation.
