The profile “Heat and Gas Supply, Ventilation, Water Supply and Sanitation” places significant emphasis on the internal structure of buildings, engineering and arrangement of comfort systems and preservation of all types of resources, competent and high-tech operation of construction facilities. This is the profession where creativity is combined with strict adherence to the rules, where main issues solved by a specialist are built around basic needs and requirements of a person.
During their studies, students gain knowledge about the organization and performance of all types of construction work, heating and ventilation systems, gas supply, air conditioning, water supply and sanitation, the basics of geology and geodesy, architecture and building design.
They learn about properties of construction materials and equipment, about how to draw up and read blueprints, how to work with technical documentation. They learn to work with specialized computer software programs, to calculate the volume and cost of the upcoming works, to observe safety regulations at the site, to monitor the quality of executed works and to timely eliminate drawbacks; they learn in detail features of already constructed buildings.
Study at Moscow Polytech
In the course of education, students work on real projects of the customers, participate in the university and international conferences, in scientific research projects jointly with leading professors of the department and industrial partners. Active students demonstrating high academic performance can be offered internships abroad. A variety of extracurricular activities is available to everyone: multiple sports and creative clubs.
