About Program
During the epoch of digitalization, for the efficient business management (by an IT-company, an enterprise or a startup) it is insufficient to know only fundamentals of management, product or project management. Students are required to be well-versed in modern information technologies, to be able to develop software themselves, to know modern solutions for product or project management, as well as aspects of information security and risk management.
While studying in the Information Technologies in Business Management program, you will learn to design and develop software solutions for managing departments, companies and your own business. You will study fundamentals of management and economics, which are necessary for managerial positions in the labor market. Special attention in the program is paid to communication skills: at least one soft skill discipline is offered through a semester.
In your senior course of the university, you may apply for positions of product management managers, system analysts or business analysts.

Questions about Program
Whom does this program prepare - a programmer or a manager?

Up to and including 2021, the Field of Study 09.03.03 included two profiles "Big and Open Data" and "Corporate Information Systems". After analyzing the labor market in 2022, we opened a new profile, which provided a good IT base, as well as the fundamentals of management. In this way, students will be able to independently choose the trajectory of their career development, and development skills or good management will definitely come in handy in the modern world.

I have an idea – a dream about creating my own product, will this program help me?

As part of the curriculum, students are introduced to modern approaches to the development of IT systems, and a good basis is given for evaluating the success of ideas for startups. And project management disciplines will help you correctly draw up a roadmap for the development of a startup and recruit the right people to the team.

I see that the disciplines on programming are available also in the other universities, why yours are better?

The originality of the curriculum lies in the fact that students study disciplines in their specialty starting from the first semester, and the skills and knowledge gained are incorporated into project activities. Thus, by the end of their studies, each student has at least 3-4 projects in their portfolio which can be shown to employers at the interview.

I am worried that I will not pass the competitive selection for this profile; will I be able to transfer later?

Yes, the transfer is possible. You will have to pass tests to fill the gap in academic disciplines, as well as work hard during the first year after the transfer, as you will have to catch up a lot. Some basic disciplines are common and are likely to be re-credited during the transfer.

Please bear in mind that the first admission to the profile “Information Technologies for Business Management” was implemented in 2022. The profile was established based on the expertize of heads of the educational program delivered since 2014. The basis is based on proved within the framework of other profiles of the discipline. The lecturers of the faculty review sets of laboratory works and other assignments taking into account the results obtained during exams and modern requirements in the industry. And the program managers invite representatives of leading IT companies to teach at the faculty.
