Daria Strekalina, PhD in Chemistry, head of department of Physics at Moscow Polytech, lead expert at “Mega Science” center, member of collaboration project LHCb at CERN (the largest lab in physics that carries out Large Hadron Collider experiments), TedX and Geek Picnic (large European popular scientific festival and open-air devoted to advanced technologies, science and creativity) speaker.
Daria became a guest expert of the first episode of the popular scientific student project “Science Kitchen”, developed by the interdisciplinary team that united 32 Moscow Polytech students. Together with the project participants, Daria cooked the favorite dish of the great scientist Mikhail Lomonosov – “Tsar’s shchi ” (cabbage soup).
Demonstrating her skills in the art of culinary, Daria gladly answered the participants` questions and shared her recipes of inspiration in science. She noted that even in complex processes, such as obtaining alloys and their implementation into the production, there are no insurmountable obstacles. The main ingredient of the recipe is to train resilience, experiment and not be afraid of taking up the responsibility even if the result is not what everybody expected it to be. It is crucial to believe in your own talent and strive for the outstanding results in the sphere of research and innovations together with the team.
Since 2023, Daria has been a potential research supervisor for the PhD track in the framework of the International Olympiad by the Association “Global Universities” (Open Doors). View Daria`s research profile, and if you are interested in physics and know materials science, join the research that is carried out in international collaboration with the world leading scientists under the respected topic of the project. For reference: in addition to “Tsar’s Schi”, Daria specializes in engineering solutions for the new physics. For several years, she has been studying materials properties, including obtaining new materials with coatings. Daria is also interested in the process of obtaining alloys and their implementation into the manufacturing process. Daria has experience of international cooperation with colleagues from CERN, one of the largest world’s center for scientific research in particle physics. Daria`s elaborations are adopted in various industries, such as aircraft and ship construction, car manufacturing, construction, ferrous metallurgy and light industry. Trends in the development of the real production sector turn into educational and research instruments when training specialists at Moscow Polytech.
