The best publications of Moscow Polytech presented at the international book fair
Fr om September 4 to 8, Moscow Polytech took an active part in the Moscow International Book Fair at the Central Exhibition Complex “Expocenter”. Thus, more than one hundred students in publishing and journalism worked at the booths of the university’s industrial partners. Students of the Institute of Graphics and Book Art named after V.A.Favorsky held creative meetings with designers and illustrators of major publishing houses, and teachers participated in the events of the business program
At the booth of Moscow Polytech, University’s staff presented two publications at once – “Dynamics of the Book Form” and a photo album “My Polytech”. Both works were awarded first-degree diplomas in the “Art-Book” nomination of the international contest “Book Art”. They also presented a new book – an album of a National Artist of the country Boris Diodorov “The Joy of Searching”. University’s Creative Director Ekaterina Khokhlogorskaya told the audience, that the album was released for the 90th anniversary of the master, who devoted his 10 years to working at the University. It was Boris Arkadyevich, who established the laboratory of lithography and book illustration, and launched the project “The Road to Pushkin”. He also put in a lot of efforts and talent in upbringing young artists – graduates of the University, noted the speaker
“Thus, among famous students of Boris Diodorov were winner of the Russian President's Prize for young artists Evgenia Lotsmanova, head of the laboratory of color lithography Alexander Ponomaryov, artist Asya Shevarova, as well as Evgenia Levonycheva and many others. Hundreds of booth visitors saw the results of our publishing projects, learned about educational programs for the book industry and much more, registered on the Open Day,” - noted Creative Director Ekaterina Khokhlogorskaya.
In addition, the Project Activity Center organized a master-class “A Souvenir with Your Own Hands Based on Alexander Pushkin’s Fairy Tales”. During the exhibition hours, more than 100 applicants visited the booth of Moscow Polytech. Experts conducted individual consultations, wh ere they spoke about admission rules, educational and extracurricular activities.
Reference: Moscow International Book Fair is the largest and oldest book forum in Russia and Eastern Europe, the most important public project for the citizens and guests of Moscow. This year more than 300 publishers and book distributors from Russia and other countries took part in the fair. The cultural program included more than 200 meetings with writers, book presentations, conferences and workshops. The business program for professionals in the book industry became an important part of the fair.
