Barcelona Smart Moto Challenge (BSMC) 2019 competition is over in Spain

The team of Moscow Polytechnic University conquered the Barcelona Circuit de Castelloli and took the first place in static tests.

BSMC is a championship for lightweight motorcycles on electric traction, designed by students of engineering universities. Moscow Polytechnic University championship team is a constant participant of the BSMC, which regularly took part in each competition for the entire existence of the race. This year they performed on the electric motorcycle MIG V2, which with a weight of 130 kg and a battery capacity of 35 Am/h does a maximum speed of 120 km/h. Students personally designed more than 60% of the motorcycle parts, including a three-speed gearbox with sequential switching. "We performed with the same motorcycle as last year, but we remedied the shortcomings of the prototype. Within the period of the competition, the pilots fell off the bike 10 times, after the falls suffered only the details of the body kit, and it is fully operational and available for use," — said the project Manager Semyon Zemtsev. In addition to static tests, students of Moscow Polytechnic University were the best in the establishment of a business plan, design and cost reports.
