MIES -2019: Work Results of Moscow Polytechnic University

Within the period from April 10 to April 13 Moscow Polytechnic University took part in Moscow International Educational Show (MIES). These days were productive for Moscow Poly: representatives of University acted as speakers and moderators of discussions, and a cooperation agreement with the group of companies “Prosveshchenie” was signed.

More information about the agreement was told on the Opening show day.

On April 10, Head of the Center for Development of Professional Education moderated the sessions devoted to secondary vocational education and the digital educational environment. On the same day, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies Andrey Philippovich told about technological innovations and digitalization of the educational process.

On Thursday, Roman Povolotsky, Head of VR/AR technologies in education at the Moscow Polytechnic University and founder of the Cyber/Russia project, took part in the discussion "Partnership as a Tool for Development of the Digital Educational Environment". The Director of Business incubator "MPolytech" Arseny Uralov made a report "Education as the Business Request : Searching the University of Dreams".

On the last day of the MIES, Dean of Engineering School Ilya Vol’nov took part in the session entitled "Peculiarities of working with generation Z: between school and University." He highlighted the key provisions of his report: "Representatives of generation Z have to face the fact that not everything in the world is digitized. For example, culture and art cannot be digitalized and simplified. People of this age — that are children and young people — live with an overabundance of information. In such circumstances, it is impossible to understand everything full form, you can only comprehend. They can comprehend information quickly and intuitively, and this is an important difference from the older generation. They work with complexity and multitasking better.  Moscow Poly teaches a particular skill, that is important to generation Z — the practical work with the contradictions, e.g. the direction of Science Art works with such a basic contradiction as "Science-Art".

In addition, before MIES closing  Director of Center for Project Activities Ilya Lepyoshkin and Head of the Program "Web technologies" Ivan Chikunov  made presentations. The speakers participated in a discussion dedicated to human resources for innovative economy.

There was a lot of activity around the site of Moscow Polytechnic University: competitions and drawings were held, and seven unique exhibits mabe by students were presented — in particular, the MiG V electric bike, which recently set a speed record on ice for electric motorcycles.
