Moscow Poly — is a Partner of the Project "IT-Class" in Moscow

30 IT-classes will be created in Moscow schools within the next two years. The corresponding order was given by the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin within today's meeting with Directors of schools, Presidents of leading Russian Universities and representatives of the IT industry. The event was attended by the President of Moscow Polytechnic University Vladimir Miklushevskii.

The main partners and developers of educational programs within the framework of the project "IT-class" became: “Yandex” company, the Association of software developers “Domestic software” and ITMO University in cooperation with well known Universities ¾ Moscow Polytechnic University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, MIPT, National Research University “Higher School of Economics”.

According to Sergei Sobyanin, Moscow strives to be a leader in the field of Information Technology.

"Yesterday, the President of the Russian Federation in his message highlighted a section on the challenges of our time that exist in the world. One of them is competitiveness in the field of Information Technologies. We have a good base for this: Universities, IT companies, which occupy 80 % of the entire Russian market. We have a basis for the active development of these industries", — said Sobyanin.

It is planned that the first IT-classes will be opened on September 1 for the tenth grade students (schools will be selected on a competitive basis). During the two-year course, students will study Information Technology at an advanced level, including familiarity with the architecture and development of Information systems, artificial intelligence, tools for analysis of social networks, means of protection of Information Systems, methods of cryptography and other areas.
