A design student will represent Russia at the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 world championship

Moscow Poly student Vlada Barulina was selected for the membership of the larger National Team of Russia in the “Future Skills” group of competences. Competitions on them at the world championship level will be held in Kazan in 2019 for the first time, in the special zone of “WorldSkills Kazan 2019”.

The experimental competition zone for promising professions “Future Skills” will be arranged on the site of 10 000 square meters. It will be a model of a “smart city” with key areas of activity: manufacturing and engineering technologies, IT and digital technologies, energy, medicine, agriculture, transport, education, ecology, creativity and design, humanities.

Vlada Barulina will perform in the competence “Industrial Design”. Besides, in 2018 a selection was arranged for the “Future Skills” in the competences like “3D prototyping”, “Development of solutions based on blockchain technologies”, “Technologies for composites”, “Industrial design”, “Internet of things”, “Development of mobile applications”, “Operation of self-driven aircraft systems”, “Laser technologies”, “Quantum technologies”, “Design of neural interfaces” and “Digital fashion designer”.

The world championship will be held in Kazan from August 22 to 27. There will be 1 600 contest participants from 66 countries of the world, competing in 56 competences. It is expected that the “WorldSkills Kazan 2019” championship and related events will be attended by 250 000 people.
