Young people from 120 Russian universities participate in the Fifth “Finathlon Forum” of Moscow Polytech

A qualifying round of the fifth “Finathlon” Forum finished in Moscow. In 2024, the competition collected around 800 works presented by the participants fr om more than 120 universities of Russia, as well as from 10 countries of the world. The experts selected more than 400 works – they will be presented on December 3, at the final stage of the international conference, at the facility of Moscow Polytech, at Pavla Korchagina Str., Bldg. 22.

The forum is positioned as an international scientific and practical conference, which unites young scientists, students and specialists, involved in such branches as financial risks, sustainable development and investment literacy.

At the qualifying round, the contestants submitted a wide spectrum of scientific research, dedicated to topical issues of modern economics, finance, ecology and technologies. The topic varied widely: the round attracted attention of the specialists both in digital revolution, and in environmental safety. There are the works that cover the problems of sustainable development and inculcation of ESG – communications.

The expert jury consisting of more than 300 specialists in the sphere of economics and sustainable development noted the high level of the contest entries.


Mikhail Mamuta, Head of the Consumer Protection and Financial Services Accessibility Service of the Bank of Russia, noted: ”The Forum is the creativity site for the experience exchange, elaboration of new ideas, and a definite view of the future”.

This year among the forum speakers are:

• Mikhail Mamuta – a Member of Board of Director of the Bank of Russia. His presentations are dedicated to the problems of accessibility of modern financial services for the population and business, as well as to the topic of their role in sustainable development.

• Sergey Storchak – a Russian public official, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation (2005-2020), a participant in the UN Conference in Baku as part of the Russian delegation, wh ere the issues of sustainable development were discussed.

• German Klimenko – a Russian activist, the owner of the Internet Company “Liveinternet”. The founder and owner of the news of aggregator “MediaMetrics”, based on the social networks data. Chairman of the Board of the Internet Development Institute. Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation on Internet Development. The founder and the head of “LBE” Banner system, TopList counter, a website catalogue.

• Mikhail Delyagin – a Russian public official, economist, politician and a publicist, a presenter of a number of TV –and radio programs. Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the VIII convocation. Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy of the Russian Federation. Scientific supervisor of autonomous non-commercial organization “Global Problems Institute”.

• Mukharbiy Ul’bashev – a Russian public official and politician. Representative to the Federation Council from the Parliament of the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic. Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Budget and Financial Markets.

• Stanislav Naumov - a Russian public official, an educator. He was elected Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the VIII convocation in 2021.

• Mikhail Golovnin – Director of the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His presentation will cover the prospects of economic growth under the conditions of digitalization and new challenges.

• Elena Nenakhova – a financial expert, a manager. Deputy Head of the Consumer Protection and Financial Services Accessibility Service of the Bank of Russia. A member of the Committee on Standards of Brokerage Activity under the Bank of Russia.

Some other experts will speak at the final stage of “Finathlon” Forum. For December 3, there are planned 21 sections and two expert round tables dedicated to topical issues:

• Islamic Banking: prospects and risks;

• Alternative currencies problems (BRICS, THE EAEU, national currencies).

At the conference there will be also discussed such topics, as gamification of educational processes, environmental safety, digital monetary revolution and inculcation of Artificial Intelligence technologies in the banking sector.


As Stanislav Naumov noted: «The importance of such events is hard to be overestimate. “Finathlon” Forum allows establishing the dialogue between young scientists and the leading experts, thus facilitating integrating new ideas into real projects”.

According to the results of the conference, all the works of finalists will be published in the collection of the RSCI, what will provide the access of wide scientific community to their research works. Final materials of the round tables will be handed over to the profile agencies for further use in the development of regulatory and strategic documents.
