"We will help your dream come true!": How the Open Day at Moscow Polytech was held
Almost a thousand guests attended the Moscow Polytechnic University Open Day on 9 November. School students and their parents got to know the study programmes, learned what they need for entering and took part in master classes and prize giveaways. In addition, even now, while studying in high school, they planned their future professional path thanks to the staff of the Career Centre and the university's industrial partners.
In the introduction, President Vladimir Miklushevsky spoke about the special features of Moscow Polytechnic University. In particular, why our university is considered the leader in project activities. Now the university co-operates with more than 750 industrial partners leading Russian market. This means that students have the opportunity to undergo internships and practice in these organisations in order to become their employees in the future.
"I believe the most important thing for which a person comes to study after school is to be able to realise one's dream. Each of us has it. When asked why one should study at Moscow Polytechnic University, I will answer why - we will help you achieve your dream! See you at Moscow Polytechnic University!", said President Vladimir Miklushevsky in his speech.
"Drone Battle", "Making Interactive Cinema Yourself", "Amusing Chemistry", "Future Energy" - only a small part of the master classes the guests participated in. There was also a large exhibition of projects, communication with the heads of faculties and institutes, experienced teachers, acquaintance with the structural units of the university: the Centre for Project Activities, Union Organisation, Campus Management, Additional Professional Education Centre and others.
"I came all the way from Yoshkar-Ola to find the Moscow Polytechnic University's Advanced Engineering School of Electric Transport and to learn about the Racing Engineering educational programme. At the beginning of the fourth year, I realised that I wanted to enter the Master's programme and that the specialties I was interested in were in Moscow Polytech," says Ivan Radyushkin, a fourth-year student of the Volga Region State Technical University.
High school students were able to ask teachers and students all their questions, representatives of the admission committee helped them to choose educational programmes suitable for their interests and needs, and the guests were introduced to the extracurricular life of the university by creative teams, presenting spectacular performances.
"I was interested in this university from the very start. I came to the Open Day to see how everything works and at the same time to meet the representatives of the Faculty of Information Technologies. The university staff told me about IT-related study programmes. I think I will eventually choose this particular field of study," said Ilya Shapugin, a student of Moscow Communications College No. 54.
Three more important events are planned for Moscow Polytechnic University applicants until the end of 2024:
23 November - Online Open Day;
7 December - Open Day in person;
21 December - Online Open Day.
