The Rector of Moscow Polytechnic University Receives a Certificate of Appreciation for Organising and Holding University Shifts from the President of the Russian Federation
Olga Chernykh, Vice-Rector for Social Work, received a certificate of appreciation from Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education. University Shifts are held at the leading universities of the country, including Moscow Polytechnic University. Over the three years of the programme, more than 150 children from the Luhansk National Republic, as well as the Kherson region, have learnt about our university and the sights of the country's capital.
Thus, the children got introduced to the project activities of Moscow Polytechnic University, visited the Advanced Electric Transport Engineering School laboratories, the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square, the Moscow Zoo and VDNKh Exhibition Centre, the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora, attended lectures on the Russian history, learnt to work in teams, took part in a number of sports competitions and also had trainings and master-classes from the university professors.
During one of the last shifts, participants met with Vladimir Miklushevskii, Rector of Moscow Polytechnic University, and Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia. The meeting was held in the form of a dialogue. The head of the university said that during the time spent at Moscow Polytechnic University the children actively explore academic and extracurricular activities. One of the main objectives of the project is to introduce children to student life and invite them to apply to higher education institutions of the country in the future.
"During the shifts we presented and explained how our university lives. The children learnt about the students' developments, immersed in the atmosphere of the university and learned about the main feature of Moscow Polytechnic University - the "Project Activities" course. This is a subject that helps students from the first year of study to get closer to their future profession and become real professional experts," said Rector Vladimir Miklushevskii.

Thanks to the project, teenagers from new regions of Russia undergo thematic educational programmes and are introduced to the culture and history of the country.
