The exhibition of Moscow Polytech students’ pictures was opened in Moscow





At the National Museum of Art and Photography in Moscow the exhibition “Plein Air 2024. Kazan.Sviyazhsk.Innopolis” was opened. The exhibition presents about 200 picturesque and graphic works. The authors are the students and teachers of the Department “Drawing and Painting” of the Institute of Graphics and the Art of Books named after V.A. Favorsky of Moscow Polytech.
The creative internship took place in Tatarstan in summer 2024. The artists painted picturesque historical places in Kazan and Sviyazhsk, interesting portraits. Within two weeks, the students completed about one thousand and a half graphic and pictorial works. With the best of them, one may familiarize himself within a month at the exhibition.
At the opening ceremony, the speech was made by Nikolay Kanavin, Chairman of the Management Board of “ProLab”, Chairman of the Board of the Piotr Baryshnikov Foundation. He noted, that exhibition at the site of the National Museum of Art and Photography is conducted in the framework of Strategic Partnership of the Production Center for the Development of Visual Art and Photography “ProLab” with Moscow Polytech.
In the opening ceremony also took part Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of Tatarstan Emil’ Faizullin, Vice-President for Academic Affairs of Moscow Polytech Gyuzel Sharipzyanova. Director of the Institute of Graphics and the Art of Books named after V.A. Favorsky – Sergey Birichev, Rector of Innopolis University Alexander Gasnikov, and author –students and spectators.
Head of the practice, Head of the Department “Drawing and Painting” Nikolay Kotlyarov expressed his gratitude to Innopolis University for support in providing practice. He told that from the students of two courses for the on-site plein-air there were selected 40 the most successful students. The interns lived and worked at the modern campus of Innopolis, and, in order to diversify the landscapes of futuristic urban architecture, made trips to the nearest picturesque historical places – to Kazan and Sviyazhsk cities.
“Plein – air is a serious school for artists, especially for the youth. Outside the usual walls of training workshops, young artists face creative tasks new for them. Besides that, they see in the work in nature an opportunity to find and develop their own style of artistic expression. In the process of the practice the teachers worked with students on a daily basis, conducted individual consultations and viewing. All this had a positive effect on the results: within two weeks, the students implemented about one thousand and a half graphic and picturesque works. The catalogue “Plein – air 2024. Kazan – Sviyazhsk-Innopolis. We do hope that our spectators will like the exhibition and that it will leave kind and warm impressions about it”.
The exhibition will last until January 31, 2025. Admittance is free.
