The Fund of socio-cultural initiatives holds VIII Russian National campaign “Stop HIV/AIDS”, timed to the World AIDS Day.
December 1 – the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation hosts a student forum “Let`s stop AIDS together” in the terms of the campaign. There` s also a marathon of popular science groups in “VKontakte”: “Special course: HIV undefeated, but what we have learnt about it since the beginning (for everyone who overslept last December 1 in the back row)”.

13:00 – 13:50 – Biology Trek. “What do we really know about viruses? (Spoiler: close to nothing)” (about viruses, their life cycle, non-trivial aspects of their reproduction and distribution, what differs HIV from other viruses).
14:00-14:50 – Communication Trek. “HIV and social advertising: from intimidating to cajoling (about HIV image, created in mass communication and social advertising)”.
15:00 – 15:50 – Cultural studies Trek. “Who is to call – DiCaprio or McConaughey?” (Cinema – how HIV image changed in cinema, how cinema altered decision-making, what films about HIV have special cultural value and why).
16:00 – 16:50 – Sociology Trek. “Why do we believe in conspiracy theories?” (about myths, HIV-dissidents, conspiracy, fake news and media literacy).
17:00 – 17:50 – Medicine Trek. “Virus vs. Human: who will win and how will help the vaccination?” (About questions, connected with medical aspects, HIV vaccinations, treatment, epidemics)
