“Space and Beautiful Science”: summer school Science-Art-2024 at Moscow Polytech completed its work

Moscow Polytech summed up the results of the summer school Science-Art-2024, which was organized by the Technological Support Center and the Engineering School (Department) for students in grades 7-11. This year’s theme was “Space and Beautiful Science”.

The training included a mixed format. Some lectures and master-classes were conducted online. Alex Goncharenko, a famous metropolitan artist, was a special guest who made his presentation. The author’s exhibition “Quantum semiotics. The birth of a new reality" is currently open at the Vitebsk Center of Modern Art in the Republic of Belarus. Moscow Polytech was a co-organizer of this exhibition.

In addition, 30 pupils were engaged in practical activity: invented the ideas, formed teams, developed a project concept and made presentations to defend it.

According to the experts, at the school Science-Art-2024 they decided to combine science, high technologies and art to address big challenges that culture and civilization are facing now. They also considered the image of the desired future.

The students worked on two themes: “ugly science and technology will not fly” and "beauty is born in the creative activity of a man, performed in the infinity of space or in space." Forming rules stemmed from a famous Soviet aircraft designer A.N. Tupolev words: “Ugly aircrafts do not fly”. As a result of students work, Art objects were created at the junction of science, art and technology.
