Within the period of May 6-May 11, the Russian Culture Festival “Russia – My Soul” is being held in Colombo, which was organized by Moscow Polytechnic University under the support of “Russkiy Mir” Foundation.
The employees of Moscow Polytech, - the Head of International Directorate Alina Andrukh, Deputy Head of International Directorate Firuz Shukurov, as well as a manager
of International Directorate Anastasia Yerofeyeva, have prepared a saturated program in order to introduce Sri Lankan citizens to the richness of Russian culture.
“The Festival “Russia – My Soul” is held annually for five years already and unites the participants of from different countries. During this time, the project geography has considerably widened, and the interest towards it is growing each year. Today we are especially glad to conduct the festival in Sri Lanka” – told Alina Andrukh.
The first day program included the interactive lecture “Russian Literature as a mirror of the soul: great names”; a quiz on knowledge of the Russian culture, as well as the demonstration of video business cards of the participants on the topic: “Russia – My Soul”
The festival united school students, students and those who are interested in culture, history and educational opportunities of Russia. The participants told about themselves and shared their impressions.
“I have been interested in Russian culture for a long time and for me it was especially important to take part in this festival. Even before arrival of Moscow Polytech employees, I started learning Russian language in order to better prove myself. I am very glad that I won the quiz and received a wonderful prize – Russian language textbook”, - shared the winner of the quiz, a participant of the festival Virasinghe Mudiyanselage Sachini Arishka.
The festival events will continue in Ratnapur from May 11 up to May 13, - lectures are also waiting for the participants there, as well as creative activities and cultural program about Russia. Besides that the festival will be held at Moscow Polytechnic University for trainees studying at the Preparatory Departments of Moscow, as well as in the online – format for the participants of Near and Far Abroad.
