“Priority 2030”: more than 2000 students of Moscow Polytech learn to manage investment projects

In the framework of “Priority 2030” at Moscow Polytech started a new program of additional vocational training “Investment Projects Management”. The program covers more than 2000 students of the first course of all the specialties and is aimed at forming of the key skills, demanded in modern professional world. The training is scheduled for 256 hours and is being conducted in the mixed format using distant educational technologies.
The students choose themselves their own like-minded people for joint development and implementation of an investment project, - tells the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management Anton Nazarenko. – This allows them acquiring not only new knowledge, but also the competencies important for the labor market, including the skills of teamwork, roles distribution, efficient time management and decision making”.
Practical teachers of the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering teach first-year students. While studying, for elaboration of an approximate business plan, students apply a digital platform – MSP.RF – the state owned platform of supporting entrepreneurs, self - employed, and those who are planning to start their own business. This tool helps to identify the market, analyze the target audience and form a unique trade offer.
Besides that, trainees learn the Gant Diagram for planning of stages and time terms of the project implementation, learn how to choose an optimal location for the project, calculate the budget, identify the need for fixed assets and hardware, as well as to build up a financial model for analyzing the project prospects and decision-making. The received parameters are analyzed in order to forecast the project prospects and its economic efficiency.
Special attention is paid to risk assessment. Students learn influence of various factors on the project implementation, create heat maps of risks and develop strategies on managing them. This helps forming a comprehensive view on project management that is necessary for every modern specialist.
