Moscow Poly held the final stage of “Engineering Biological Systems: Agro-biotechnologies” national technological Olympiad in the period between 28 March and 2 April 2022. The track is usually held at Moscow Poly premises with the support of Puschino State Institute of Natural Science and national technological Olympiad project office.
Seven teams fr om different Russian cities made it to the final. The contest was held online with the practical part held in a form of online-lab wh ere an “avatar” – a lab assistant carrying out the tasks instead of the participants themselves.
The testing site was equipped with the modern grow boxes to grown microgreens, and lab equipment for chemical analysis, as well as sets to equip grow boxes with automation systems.
Over the past six days, the participants engaged in designing a highly productive mobile city farm and searched practical solutions to the related tasks growing out the microgreens of various sorts and automatizing the testing site systems.
The winners got 100 points in national state exams majoring in chemistry and biology.
Within framework of the project, several lectures were held by aquafarming center under K.G. Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technologies and Management. In addition to that, professor at Puschino State Institute of Natural Science, Svetlana Artyukhova held an interesting tour to the word of biotechnologies.
