Moscow Polytechnic University to create new system of engineering education for Russia's technological sovereignty
Addressing the shortage of engineering personnel in Russia requires developing a competitive training system of its own. Vladimir Miklushevsky, Rector of Moscow Polytechnic University, spoke about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Moscow Polytechnic University's strategy is directly focused on addressing this large-scale national challenge.
"The shortage of engineering personnel cannot be resolved solely through migration measures. The foundation of personnel sovereignty is a dedicated engineering education system capable of preparing competitive specialists," noted Vladimir Miklushevsky.
Today, our university is not simply educating students; it is creating a new educational model integrated into the real sector of the economy.
"We created a new model of engineering education and have already launched two schools: the Advanced Engineering School of Technological Leadership (FDR) and the Advanced School of Engineering Design," Rector added.
The model is founded on a project-based approach from the first year. Thus, students work on real-world technological challenges from partner companies. This format allows future engineers to gain professional experience while studying.
