Moscow Polytechnic University introduced representatives from MIPT and Skoltech to university's developments
Alexey Ponomarev, Senior Vice President for Industrial Relations at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), Alexey Kashin, Director of the Institute of Electric Propulsion at MIPT and CEO of Metalion JSC, and Yana Lonshakova, Head of Department at Metalion JSC, visited Moscow Polytechnic University. The guests, along with Moscow Polytech Rector Vladimir Miklushevsky, toured the laboratories where the university's development engineers are creating driverless vehicles, developing electric motorcycles, and electrifying equipment.
Pablo Iturralde, Director of the Advanced Engineering School of Technological Leadership FDR, demonstrated to the delegation modular platforms and an electric vehicle being developed at the school for industrial partners. FDR School partners include industry leaders such as PAO KAMAZ, AVTOTOR Holding, KAMAZ Research Center, and others. Together, Moscow Polytechnic University develops not only automotive products but also relevant educational programs that are in demand in the market.
The tour focused on the development of critical automotive components. Specifically, by 2025, not only a hybrid powertrain, traction batteries, electronic vehicle control units, and key automatic transmission components for truck platforms were created but also tested. As a reminder, this work is being conducted as part of the federal program "Priority 2030." The university is implementing two strategic technology projects within the program: a modular platform for compact electric vehicles and the localization of automotive components.
In the school's laboratories, guests could see equipment that enables the production of high-quality products from structural and alloy steels, as well as aluminum alloys, and CNC metalworking machines that enable the production of components for various engineering projects.
Sergey Alyshev, Deputy Director of the Advanced School of Engineering Design at Moscow Polytech, introduced guests to promising developments in automotive and aviation design at the Industrial Design Science and Technology Center. These included the interiors of AURUS and ELBRUS helicopters, certified by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), the super-light interiors of the Il-96-400 and Il-76 aircraft, and more.
