Moscow Polytechnic University expert comments on risks of unauthorized replacement of car headlights on Rossiya 1 («Россия 1»)

"Changes to headlights are unacceptable," said Yuri Furletov, associate professor and senior researcher at Moscow Polytechnic University, in a comment to reporters on the "Utro Rossii" program regarding the replacement of standard headlights with illegal optics. The interview was prompted by a proposal by lawmakers to toughen penalties for drivers who tamper with standard headlights. The legislative amendments propose increasing the fine from the current 500 rubles to 5,000 rubles, a tenfold increase.
