Daria Strekalina, PhD in Chemistry, , head of department of Physics at Moscow Polytech, lead expert at “Mega Science” center, member of collaboration project LHCb at CERN (the largest lab in physics that carries out Large Hadron Collider experiments), TedX and Geek Picnic (large European popular scientific festival and open-air devoted to advanced technologies, science and creativity) speaker.
Daria Strekalina took part in a public talk “Women in Science” held in the framework of the projects “Mary Kay” and “Woman Who Matters”. In her address to young ladies interested in science, she urged not to be afraid. When Daria herself first encountered the scientific field, she realized it was engaging and interesting. “So, the key point here is not to be afraid.” Daria inspires many young female scientists to develop their own potential in science. After all, “Science is always a mix of logic and creativity, and together, they turn some research into real elaborations that can be used”.
Daria Strekalina supports young scientists and students by providing reliable and practice-oriented information on career development, scientific research and grants. She also hosts workshops and seminars, shares her experience and knowledge in different scientific fields including interdisciplinary physics and new technologies for fundamental physics. Thus, in the course of one of the events that took place at Moscow Polytech’s Entrepreneurial Boiling Point (“Tochka Kipeniya”) she talked about prospects of career development in science.
In 2023, Daria joined the International Olympiad by the Association “Global Universities” (“Open Doors”) as a potential research supervisor.
