Moscow Polytech presented its developments at the International Automotive Scientific Forum

Within the period of October 16-17, took part in the International Automotive Scientific Forum (IASF-2024).

At the round table “Creation and development of educational environment in the sphere of innovative transportation means. Formation of demanded professional competencies” Pablo Iturralde told about the features of the Advanced Engineering School of Electric Transport as of a structure, which provides students and master’s degree students with real opportunities and practical skills. The speaker specially noted the cooperation with industrial partners. 

“Currently it is crucially important to give the students a chance to become a member of the project that will have its development in industry. Tight cooperation with the leading representatives of the industry vividly demonstrates to a new generation of future specialists, that the University is a site for powerful realization of the professional potential and for obtaining the tools, which will turn an idea to the product”, - shared Pablo Iturralde.

Also at the forum there was held the final of the competition of scientific works of students, postgraduates and young scientists. Filipp Karpukhin, representing AES of Electric Transport, made a presentation “Creation of the concept of a comprehensive charging infrastructure for low carbon footprint vehicles” and took the third place. The dearest reward the prizewinner received from the hands of the winner of “24 Hours of Le Mans” racing, G-Drive Sports Director Roman Rusinov. 

Besides that at the specialized exhibition at the Design Center, the Advanced Engineering School of Electric Transport of Moscow Polytech presented the cargo Unmanned Smart Shuttle and MIG R2 electric motorcycle. 

The Cargo Smart Shuttle is a prototype, developed in the framework of promotion of the Smart Shuttle line. Its main task - transportation of goods in closed territories, such as parking zones. Airports, warehouses. The cargo prototype allows widening the areas of application of the developed platform and increasing potential sales market of products

The MIG R2 electric motorcycle has been engineered and designed for speed competitions and speed festivals. While the creation of the development the engineers used the 3-D printing technologies, - for example, while manufacturing of functional details - battery cell mounts and the charger port of the bike. One more distinctive feature is a carbon fiber composite body kit and the tires with titanium spikes of own production. In 2022, MIG R2 became a member of the annual festival “The Baikal Mile”. 

Reference: Let us remind you, that according to the results of selection in 2021 Moscow Polytech received a basic grant for its development in the amount of 100 million rubles. In December 2022, Moscow Polytech received a special part of the grant of the program “Priority 2030” under the track “Sectoral and/or Territorial Leadership”. For the participation in the program, the University submitted a strategic project “Affordable Electric Vehicle”. In the framework of the project, the University is establishing the national engineering school of automotive industry; in such a way, the University contributes to the achievement of technological sovereignty of Russia. “Priority 2030” –in the history of Russia is the most large-scale state program of supporting universities; it is aimed at increasing competitiveness of Russia in the sphere of education, science and technologies.
