On March 22, I.Fyodorov Museum of Printing History, Book Publishing held an opening ceremony of the exhibition “Teacher and Students” devoted to the anniversary of Moscow Polytech emeritus professor Yury Chuvashev. The exposition displays 60 works by the artist and his students.
Yury I. Chuvashev is a Moscow Polytech merited professor, member of Union of Artists, PhD in history of arts, honored employee of the Higher School of the Russian Federation. In the course of over 50 years, Yury has been teaching at Moscow Polytech. On his anniversary, Yury received warm wished from Moscow Polytech vice-president for academic affairs Gyuzel Sharipzyanova, creative director Ekaterina Khokhlogorskaya, merited artists of Russia and lecturer of the department of “Academic Drawing and Painting” Alexei Fedulov, Alexander Kotlyarov, Mikhail Konnovalov.
“Interesting was the very concept of the exhibition ‘Teacher and Students’. Yury Ivanovich has been teaching at our university for his whole life. Total teaching experience is over half a century. Thanks to him many generations of graduates became professional artists! A part of them have successfully stayed to teach at their alma-mater. At this exhibition, some participants presented their works made under supervision of Yury Chuvashev, it also sparked special interest”, says the head of the department of “Academic Drawing and Painting” Nikolai Kotlyarov
In the course of the exhibition, there are lecturing tours scheduled for March, 27-29 and April, 4. One can come see the works by the merited artist at Mikhalkovskaya st., 9.
