Moscow Polytech Completes the First Stage of the “Russia - My Soul” Festival in Colombo and Continues the Program in Ratnapura
The first stage of the Festival of Russian Culture “Russia – My Soul”, organized by Moscow Polytech with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, has concluded in Colombo and is now continuing in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka.
The project has been held annually in various formats for the past five years. This year, Moscow Polytech decided to organize the festival in Sri Lanka together with the university’s partner, Vimashan Wimalagunasekara.
“Our cooperation with Moscow Polytech has continued for many years. Every year, students from Sri Lanka choose this university for their education. I am especially pleased that the staff of the International Office selected Sri Lanka as the venue for this year’s Festival to introduce prospective students to Russian culture,” said Vimashan Wimalagunasekara.
During the festival, participants explored Russian culture, literature, and traditions through interactive lectures, quizzes, creative activities, and competitions with prizes and gifts.
As part of the program, participants took part in the “Russia - My Soul” video contest and the AI-generated photo contest “Vision of Russian Culture.” The contestants presented works dedicated to Russian culture, traditions, and the image of Russia.

- 3rd place — Sachini Avishkq Weerasinghe Mudiyanselage
The winners of the photo contest are:
- 1st place — G.M Sayumi Perera
- 2nd place — Methsuka Yaneth Pullenayagam, P. Daham Chathurya Daham
- 3rd place — Lahiru Lakshan
The festival will continue online:
• May 23 — Online festival for participants from far abroad countries
• May 25 — Online festival for participants from neighboring countries
The final stage of the “Russia – My Soul” Festival will take place on June 9 at Moscow Polytech in Moscow.
