Moscow Polytech and “Znanye” launched the AI course for Teachers

The online course "Teaching in the AI Era: Challenges and New Ethics," implemented by the Russian Society «Znanie» in collaboration with Moscow Polytech, has launched on the Znanie.Academy platform. Teachers will learn how to use artificial intelligence in their work and recognize it in home assignments. The course speakers included experts from the Russian Ministry of Education, Skolkovo, Sber, and the Higher School of Economics.

During the course, teachers and faculty staff will test domestic neural networks: they will develop lesson plans and lectures, generate images and infographics, prepare analytical reports, and compare student work with that of the artificial intelligence system.

Course participants will also receive theoretical training: they will gain a basic understanding of AI principles, understand the capabilities and limitations of generative models, and learn about new objective evaluation criteria. This will allow teachers to adapt assignments so that students don not use artificial intelligence when completing them.

"Every teacher needs to develop a personal professional position on a tool like AI: is it ethical to use it, how does it affect assessment criteria, and how to ensure academic integrity with this technology. By studying the fundamentals of neural networks and testing them in action, teachers will be able to consciously respond to these questions, putting aside any preconceptions," said Alexandra Buychik, Head of the Znanie.Akademiya platform.

The course is open to everyone. Its total duration is 16 academic hours. The training is organized in a flexible format, allowing participants to study the materials and complete assignments at their own pace. Faculty members from higher education institutions, secondary vocational schools, and general education organizations can take the course as a professional development course and receive a certificate of professional development in the established format from Moscow Polytech.

"Given the growing role of artificial intelligence in education, Moscow Polytech, together with the Znanie Society, are launching a new professional development program designed specifically for teachers in schools, colleges, and universities. Designed exclusively for practical application, the program will enable teachers to master AI technologies and make the teaching process modern, engaging, and productive," emphasized Guzel Sharipzyanova, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Moscow Polytech.

The course speakers included Andrey Gorobets, Director of the Department of Digital Transformation and Priority Projects at the Russian Ministry of Education; Executive Director for GigaChat Development at SBER; Alexander Didenko, Professor of Practice and Head of the AI Lab at the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management; ; Dmitry Yeryomenko, Entrepreneur, Head of Master’s Degree Program at Yandex and HSE (National Research University HSE); and Madina Davlatova, Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Department of Educational Programs at the Higher School of Economics.
