Moscow Polytech and Rublyovsky Porsche Center Win GT and Become Silver Medalists of Moscow Championship
On June 22, Moscow Raceway held the II stage of the Russian endurance racing contest REC. The four-hour marathon started and came to an end in the twilight. After the practice runs and qualifying part, some crews dropped out fr om the race due to technical reasons, so only 16 participants made it to the starting line.
The team “Sportcar Racing Team” comprised of Moscow Polytech students competed for the victory in the framework of one of the most numerous classes – GT wh ere the main competitors were Mercedes-AMG GT4 and Toyota Supra GT4.
Endurance racing is always a serious challenge both for pilots and the car, and for the whole team as well as. Because it`s because of the well-coordinated work of the all the members that allows to achieve such results.
In the course of the four hours of race the pilots of Porsche 718 Cayman ClubsportRS demonstrated stable speed, and the engineers brilliantly carried out three obligatory pitstops, which allowed to win over precious seconds and increase the breakaway distance.
The “Sportcar Racing Team” crew managed to finish with a good advantage of approximately 40 sec-breakaway from their closes opponents and become winners in GT class taking the second step of the podium in overall standings. In addition to that, the first two stages of the Russian endurance race contest took place in the framework of Moscow championship, so the scores gained allowed the team to become a silver medalist in the Moscow championship.
